Importing Pets to Philippines:

Requirement and Timeline


  • Preparation Time: 2 months


  • Microchip: Your pet must be microchipped (ISO 11784 and 11785 standards)

  • Vaccination Records: Ensure they are up to date

    • For cats and dogs: Rabies must be administered more than 14 days prior to travel and within the last year.


    • For dogs: Canine distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, and Leptospirosis (14 days of gap before arriving in the Philippines). 


    • For cats: Feline Calicvirus, Herpesvirus, and Parvovirus (to be given 14 days before travelling)

  • Parasite Treatment: Internal and external parasitic treatments are compulsory.

  • Quarantine: be prepared for quarantines

  • Import Permit: Secure the required import documentation and applications. Domestic Permit is required for travels from Manila. 


  • Health Certificates: Obtain 7 days before date of export.
