Importing Pets to Europe:

Requirement and Timeline

  • Microchip: ISO microchip

  • Vaccinations: Ensure they are up to date
- For cats and dogs: Rabies must be administered 21 days before the final veterinary health check-up.

    • For dogs: Dogs: Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus (DHLPP), and Bordetella (to be given 2 weeks before entering Europe).


    • For cats: Cats: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia (FVRCP) (to be given 2 weeks before entering Europe).

  • Health Certificate: to be obtained within 10 days before date of arriving EU.

  • Parasite Treatment: only apply to some countries
